Recently, Chenxian Optoelectronics announced the successful lighting of the world's first 102 inch P0.5 (pixel spacing 0.5mm) TFT based Micro LED splicing screen.

It is reported that this new product uses a 25 micron LED chip and is equipped with the first domestically developed Micro LED dedicated driver IC, achieving a color depth of 10 bits for the first time in the world. At the same time, it can achieve a high refresh rate of 240 Hz and seamless free splicing within 60 microns.

In addition, this splicing screen also has outstanding features such as high brightness, high contrast, high color saturation, and long lifespan.

Micro LED, as the next generation display technology, is reshaping the display industry ecosystem. While the industry is developing rapidly, there are also related technological bottlenecks that need to be overcome.

Established in 2020, Chenxian Optoelectronics is a subsidiary of Vicino, with the goal of focusing on the development of Micro LEDs and striving to become a global leader in the field of Micro LED displays.

At the beginning of its establishment, Chenxian Optoelectronics obtained 506 Micro LED related patents independently developed by Vicino for 300 million yuan, mainly involving six categories: backplane, massive transfer, driver, packaging and module, equipment, and terminal technology.

In 2021, Chenxian Optoelectronics and Sanan Semiconductor reached a strategic partnership to deepen cooperation in the development of Micro LED chips, massive transfer, production line automation, and other fields. The goal is to jointly develop the first Micro LED mass production product for end customers.

In the same year, Chenxian Optoelectronics has built the first micro LED pilot production line in Chinese Mainland from LTPS drive backplane, massive transfer, repair to full module coverage, and completed the whole process line.

In the field of glass based Micro LED technology, Chenxian Optoelectronics focuses on high-end TV, automotive, and intelligent wearable applications, while in the field of silicon based Micro LED technology, it focuses on AR applications.

In May of this year, Chenxian Optoelectronics successfully developed a 4.78 inch TFT based Micro LED borderless splicing display module, which is the first TFT based Micro LED borderless splicing display module in China with a 100% illumination rate.

In August of this year, Chenxian Optoelectronics successfully lit up the first 58-inch P0.5 TFT based Micro LED splicing screen in China, using a 25 micron LED chip and the first Micro LED dedicated driver IC in China. It successfully achieved 10 bit color depth, 240 Hz high refresh rate, and 500000: 1 ultra high contrast.

On September 8th, Chenxian Optoelectronics successfully laid the foundation for the world's first TFT based Micro LED production line with an investment of 3 billion yuan.

Chen Xian Optoelectronics General Manager Huang Xiuqi introduced at the groundbreaking ceremony, "Based on the maturity of technology research and development and the judgment of the industrial environment, Chen Xian Optoelectronics is now launching the world's first TFT based Micro LED production line with a total investment of 3 billion yuan. It will take the lead in laying out the field of large-sized commercial displays and is expected to achieve product shipment by the end of 2024

At the same time, it is pointed out that the completion of the production line will effectively promote the commercialization process of Micro LED display technology in China, and will also become an important milestone in the high-quality development of China's new display industry.
